Amanda began teaching in 2002 while working as a freelance copywriter in Los Angeles. Between demanding hours with global agencies and pitch presentations for clients all around the world, she found herself most at peace while teaching. So, after 14 rewarding years in the advertising industry, she committed herself to finding success as an Instructor and Studio Owner and began teaching full-time. Amanda opened Somaspace in 2009 to provide Austin with quality private instruction in Classical Pilates and the GYROTONIC Method. She has since grown her studio to include quality teaching training programs for both methods. Amanda is a versatile and intuitive teacher, and her approach is demanding yet compassionate. She is especially passionate about guiding Apprentice Teachers into a rewarding new career.
Amanda has earned multiple certifications over the past 20 years, including comprehensive training with both Real Pilates® and Romana’s Pilates. She is also an Authorized Pre-Trainer for the GYROTONIC® Expansion System.
